Autumn has arrived and at Ten19 Fibre Artists we have all posted our first pieces of work for our Ten Places: Ten Artists group challenge. You can find them on our Instagram and Twitter accounts. We are looking forward to our November work and hopefully by the time we have completed ten each we can have an actual exhibition rather than an online one!

We are all fortunately keeping well and continuing to meet online every month, bouncing ideas off each other, and sharing our art. A few of us have managed to have short breaks and Alison managed a concert – no singing along!
Pascale over in Luxemburg has started an online textile class which and has said how nice she is finding meeting with like minded people again. She will tell us more in this month’s blog post!
Nina, Liz, and Nikki who live near to each other have also managed to meet in person.

Nina says: ‘The Cornish contingent of the group have been able to meet up now using one of the local church rooms  -  all Covid secure of course!   It has certainly helped to motivate us to get focussed again and crack on with exhibition pieces - and also, with the new challenge of 'ten places ten artists'.  Whilst meeting up on-line is better than nothing…there is nothing like the company of creative people, and this is something that has been sorely missed during this Covid time.’

Helen sat in on the live zoom meeting by Victoria Miro of Grayson Perry talking about his new exhibition as he walked around. Her verdict was the exhibition looks great and has new pieces but no marks for the zoom meeting!
You can find out about it here https://victoria-miro.com/exhibitions/547/  and its on until the end of December.
And of course, there is Sky Arts Portrait Artists of the Year currently on TV, although in a public free setting. Nice to see at least one textile artist this week taking part!

    We Are ten19 fibre artists

There are ten of us, we came together as a group in 2019 and we love to use any kind of fibre to create art.
We live throughout the UK and Luxembourg and originally met through studying with Distant Stitch.
Our tutor and director of Distant Stitch, Sian Martin, as a lot to answer for and we hope we make her proud of what we intend to achieve
Thanks to Covid19 our exhibition has been postponed BUT we continue to show our work on our Instagram account and as soon as we have new dates we will be letting you all know.
